First off, this comic is a two part comic. You’ll notice the above comic has "page 2" listed either below or above the image. Click it to see the second part of this filler.

I've been trying to finish this thing for the past few days. I was oddly enough having trouble drawing the last panel, because for some reason, trying to make Piro look scary wasn't working. Then I remembered an image Fred drew when he signed my copy of megatokyo volume 2. It was Cynical-Piro. After that everything clicked. Sorry for the long wait. Regular comic returns at long last, on Monday.

Megatokyo and Bullshit.
I drew this filler to cheer up Fred. The man's busy. He also has to deal with all sorts of really stupid bullshit. Latest bit of stupidity was the comment of him "selling out" because he opened a store as opposed to attending the Umpteenth convention. Never mind that he's already attended more cons then likely any other web comic creator has in this last year, and never mind that he's trying to support himself and his website through creation of his own store. People don't think or don't realize that maintaining a comic, Especially one of the more popular ones, can range in the thousands. Oh no, he must be selling out, the silly bastard is trying to make a living off something he likes to do that lots and lots of people enjoy and support... People get this weird image of the man swimming in lakes of money. Grow up and buy a fucking clue. Another oddity I've noticed is how much people hate the man because they hate the comic. Now when I encounter this strange behavior, I point out "well then don't read the comic." Now this usually goes in two directions,
1) they get huffy and curse me, because I do not subscribe to there hate mongering. Or
2) they admit that it's not so much the comic as its readers. You know people, I'm not too fond of trekkies, but I find I can pretty fucking easily not deal with them. My secret? By FUCKING AVOIDING THEM! Don't go to their forums, don't immerse yourself in the culture. Walk away and let it go.. If you want to hate, go ahead and hate, but realize what kind of senseless idiot you are! If you’re wondering why the hell I'm defending him here. It's pretty simple, one of the richest and most rewarding experiences I get out of life is being able to call Fred Gallagher a friend, as well as his wife. They are by far most likely the nicest people I will ever know. Lovely thing about a rant space, is I can speak my mind. You don't like it, don't fucking read it.

Comic -Con
Right comic con, remains a pretty heavy haze. I still need to upload the photos of people who visited the table. At least I have all of mine and Daves scanned. I just need to get a hold of Lori to ask for hers. As you may know I was able to share a table with Matt and jess from Machall. Our neighbor was a small but flourishing Australian comic book company called Phosphorescent comics they gave me free comics. They aren't bad. =) so I'm plugging them here. So go check 'em out for me.

Lori, was awesome and able to teach me the way's of getting people's attention and drawing them to the table. She also got me a signed Strangers in Paradise, vol.1. Which was damned nice.. Well she also gave us a shit tone of support, bought us dinner, watched the table, and took photo's... Well make sure you drop a line and tell her how much we appreciate her effort. (I think its old news, but I'm pretty sure you folks know I'm drawing the artwork for her card game. actually I need to report back into her. been out of communication on the net for a while.)

I'll do my best to keep this short and just point out highlights. Bugging Fred and Sarah.. Often.. They even gave me a shirt. Fred keeps telling me he designed it with himself and me in mind. Well it does sum me up pretty well

Met gabe and Tycho. Was able to speak to tycho a bit. He also gave me a shirt.. Well a couple =D. I love both my shirts equally. They were also cool enough to put up a little drawing I did for the machall booth, since machall was mis-listed. SDCC thought somehow that machall was the name of the guy who did underpower.... Oi!

Andy from Automic toy came by with his posse. Me and the guys started quoting our favorite buttlord GT lines. Man I love his work. He even gave me a sketch. well he drew me two, but he didn't like the first. so I GOT TWO! ROCK!!

I went and bought a copy of flight. And got it signed. BWHHAHAHA Happy me!

Also kat from tomodachi forever stopped by, and she even drew me this!

Went and chatted with Gary Gianni. Another artist whom I have admired through the years. I usually make a note of going off and bugging him at every comic con I go to. I was more then thrilled when I found he was illustrating one of my favorite authors. Once upon a time I had a similar style. Currently you can catch his work in the Sunday papers, doing prince valiant. I also got this. yeah I almost squeed. Solmon Kane is my Favorite R.E.H creation.

Met and hung out with Aerie for a lil bit. Showed her how I ink on the comp. pretty cool gal. =) so go read her comic.

Also bumped into a web comic that i used to read while I was at college, but had lost the adress since. Martins Misdirection is a nice piece of work. I'm damn glad I found him again. Bought one of his sketch books. One half was his work, and the other was his wife's. they ain't no slouches and I'm glad I had a chance ot meet them both. go read the comic, it's pretty damn good.

I'm trying to think of what else of merit occurred. I love meeting all of you readers who showed. I've mentioned that an emotional train wreck occurred at sdcc, well one right after the other. If it wasn't for you guys showing up, asking your questions, keeping me busy and just being genuinely cool people, the con would have sucked. SO thanks all of you for showing.

As I think about it, I wonder why reporting all the little details of a con are so important? hmm Well that's my initial report for now, if anything more occurs, I'll mention it next time. As it is it's already 6:15 A.M and I haven't slept yet.

Prints:
Good news for the people who bought the most recent sketches, I got them back. I just need to send them. Thank you everyone for being patient I plan to send these out as soon as I get money, which hopefully occurs after the next auction. This time I'm going to offer ALL the Mt related work I did in the creation of this comic as a set. What that means is all the art you see in these two filler pages, and the art I made for the filler before this. Fred gave me the go ahead, so please no emails stating your concern about that. after this( and I’m not sure when I'll offer this I want to fill in the remaining pages you see) I'll be auctioning one of my sketchbooks. It has Underpower art, as well as misc up art. I'll keep you posted on that.

Also it looks like I'll be getting a new comp soon thanks to one of you lovely readers. YAY, no more jiggling the power chord!!

That’s it for now folks

Later true cynics!
